Abstract
The present entanglement that is happening today between Europe, Asia M inor and Russia, placed the Black Sea region in the center of world attention. As he speaks in his work Histoire de la M er Noire, published in France, Gheorghe Constantin Bratianu, the great historian and professor: “Theater presented at the Black Sea coast, argues for considerations exceeding the regional issues. (...) Due to its sea routes and ports, the Black Sea deserves the title of the great port of international traffic and trade” [1, p. 25]. Currently the geopolitical and economic situation in the Black Sea region has become more complex, particularly after the decision on NATO enlargement in 2002. A new geopolitical apparatus, was announced in the Black Sea region back in the 90's of the last century, when there were proposed the first pr ojects for the pipelines of energy supply from the East to the West. Today, the Black Sea region is gradually beginning to occupy a central place in the western efforts to protect and promote its interests in the Caucasus and the M iddle East.
