Abstract

Recent study indicates that Wnt/p-catenin signal transduction pathway is closely associated with the tumorigenesis and progression of brain gliomas. The inhibitor and some members of Wnt/p-catenin pathway can promote proliferation and inhibit apoptosis in glioma cells when they are expressed abnormally,then brain gliomas may occur. So,further study of the relationship between Wnt/βcatenin signal pathway and glio-mas can give us a better understanding about the tumorigenesis and progression of gliomas,and also may provide us with a new target for future gene therapy of gliomas.
