Abstract

A thermal evaporation method was adopted to fabricate a bilayer heterojunction organic photodetector (OPD) based on perylene derivative (BPPC) and derivative of Copper Phthalocyanine (F16CuPc) without and with addition of rGO layer. Upon illumination of red light, a trace of light was detected by the OPD in the reverse bias as well as forward bias direction. Suppression of leakage current is observed by insertion of rGO between ITO and BPPC. Good photo-switch performance is observed for the rGO based OPD due to the efficient generation of photo-induce free carriers in the rGO based OPD. However, no photo-switch performance is observed in without rGO based OPD. BPPC/F16CuPc bilayer heterojunction with the incorporation of rGO used in the present study has the potential to be applied to red light photodetector device in the near future.
