Abstract

The objective of this report is to describe a social audit activity developed through thematic pedagogical workshops. This experience report compress an offer of consulting tasks in the area of social audit training, in the scope of the extension project “Social control: learn to be a social auditor”, in Brasília, Brazil, conducted by the course of Accounting Sciences of the University of Brasília (UnB). The extension project aims to empower an academic community and society in general to exercise social control over governmental management. The methodology of thematic pedagogical workshops was developed in the extension project scope by Costa et al. (2014). Between 2014 and 2017 the project certified ninety-nine participants. It was concluded that the experience was successful and contributed to the reflection on the need for maturation of the methodology of thematic workshops and the planning of the offer to attend different audiences, such as children and elderly.
