Abstract

In this article a method of calibrating a Rogowski coil is given, which does not require other current reference devices. The method is based on the intrinsic properties of an LCR circuit, requiring only ringdown measurements using a waveform recorder and a high dc-voltage measuring device. While the Rogowski coil was the main subject of our experimental investigation, the method is quite general and is applicable to the calibration of other types of current sensing devices.
