Abstract
Weibel-Palade bodies were found in the endothelial cells of the mesenteric arteries of hypertensive rats. They were spherical or rod-shaped and bounded by a single membrane. They measured approximately 0.1 to 0.2 mu in diameter and up to 0.4 mu in length. The majority of them showed microtubular subunits, measuring about 200 A in width. These bodies are thought to originate from Golgi apparatus.
