Abstract

A facile ultrasound-assisted synthesis of manganese–cobalt layered double hydroxides (Mn–Co LDH) is reported in this study. The as-synthesized product was characterized using various techniques to establish its discrete structure and morphology. The electrochemical performance was studied and the product claims a specific capacitance of 290 F/g. The prepared electrode material shows a capacitance retention of 87% after 200 cycles. It showcases a specific energy of 18.1 Wh/kg and a specific power of 1200 W/kg. This research mandates the implementation of a facile synthesis protocol to develop insights on the performance metrics of Mn–Co LDH.
