Abstract
In many applications, the network design problem faces uncertainty in OD demand, as it can be difficult to estimate current and future values of OD demand. In this paper, we present a network design model under OD demand uncertainty in order to quantify the effect of the uncertainty by the robust optimization. An optimization algorithm based on a cutting constraint algorithm solves the mixed integer linear programming. A computational experiment shows that total travel time is connected with the uncertainty level, the infeasibility tolerance and the reliability level in transportation network design problems.
