Abstract

Robust control methods of electric machines based on the disturbance torque estimation have been proposed. The disturbance torque is estimated from the measured speed or position of the motor when a rotational transducer can be mounted. However, the transducers cannot be mounted in some cases, such as motor drives in a hostile environment or high-speed motor drives. Therefore, a novel method for estimating the disturbance torque of an induction motor without rotational transducers is presented, along with robust field-oriented induction motor drives based on this method. The effectiveness of the feedback of the estimated disturbance torque without rotational transducers is demonstrated through experimental verifications. >
