Abstract

This paper addresses the robust fault detection problem for a class of linear parameter-varying (LPV) systems with time delays. It is assumed that the state-space data depend affinely on parameters that can be measured in real-time and the time-delay is unknown but with bounded variation rates. A robust residual generator which has the same parameter dependence as the plant is developed in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The resulting residual generator has robustness to exogenous disturbance and plant time-delay. A scheme for residual evaluation is also presented. To demonstrate the proposed method, an illustrative example is provided.
