Abstract
Multiple-access interference (MAI) is concerned widely as one of the most important problems in CDMA system. Most existing researches are under the Gaussian noise assumption, which is not coincident with the real situation. Actually, the more impulsive is the noise, the more severe is the performance degradation incurred by the conventional detectors. This paper proposes a novel robust blind multiuser detection (MUD) method based on fractional lower order statistics theory and the alpha stable model to suppress the negative effect of impulsive noises. Simulation results and theoretical analysis indicate the proposed new method is robust and offers performance enhancement over traditional technology in impulsive noises
