Abstract
The HE3DA concept of up to several millimeters thick electrodes (3D) gives lithium battery incomparable safety and brings a number of new technical attributes, which are not achievable by the existing thin film technology (2D).3D architecture allows construction of very large cells and provides inherent safety required for large energy storage. Ceramic composite separator, together with the advanced 3D electrode design give the cell robust and stable performance, extend the temperature range, eliminate common ageing mechanisms such as active layer delamination, plastic separator shrinkage on overheating, gas bubbles or step increase of internal resistance during cycling.Performance of 1KWh 3D cells at different load and conditions will be demonstrated.
