Abstract
Intimate partner violence (IPV) has previously been demonstrated to be associated with mental illness, suicidality, and alcohol and substance abuse. These factors are common in the trauma setting, and have been independently shown to be associated with both intentional and unintentional traumatic injury. However, there have thus far been few studies describing the relationship between these risk factors for IPV and IPV itself in trauma populations.
