Abstract
Organizations need to adopt new technologies in their organizations like Knowledge Management (KM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Information Communication Technology (ICT), etc. to compete and to survive with others. ERP system is one of the latest innovation and supportive requirement in the firm. The collaboration of ERP with KM can ensure the success of the KM in an organization and it can provide the new educational standards to the firms like steel sectors. This research work focuses on the success of KM implementation in an organization by collaboration with the ERP system. The study contains the identification of variables for various risk factors associated with ERP to ensure the success of KM from the previously published articles. After identification of the variables, it involves the grouping of the identified variables into the factors through the brainstorming session with the experts of various integrated Indian Steel Plant. The experts were the AGM, DGM, Managers and Assistant managers from the inside and outside of the industry as well. After identification of the factors, it can be said that the risk factors associated with ERP have a positive influence on ensuring the success of KM implementation in the steel plants. Through this research, it has been concluded by the experts that these identified factors will provide the new capabilities to the firm to survive and to compete with the other organizations.
