Abstract

Objective To discuss risk factors of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the data of patients with non-small cell lung cancer combined with VTE (n=57) and patients with non-small cell lung cancer (n=105) in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2005 to January 2016.Using binary logistic regression model, we examined risk factors in non-small cell lung cancer associatied with VTE. Results Multivariable analysis in binary logistic regression model showed that chemotherapy (OR=5.91, 95% CI: 1.47-10.76), white blood cell >11×109/L(OR=7.54, 95% CI: 1.69-13.25), albumin 500 μg/L (OR=25.16, 95%CI: 7.87-80.41) were independently associated with VTE. Conclusions Chemotherapy, white blood cell >11×109/L, albumin 500 μg/L are independent risk factors for incident VTE in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Key words: Risk factor; Non-small cell lung cancer; Venous thromboembolism; Pulmonary embolism; Deep venous thrombosis
