Risk factors for the development of medical device related pressure injuries in the adult intensive care patient; A case-control study

Abstract

• Medical professionals lack awareness of the risk factors associated with the development of MDRPI. • This case-control study identified ICU LOS as the only statistically significant predictor in the development of MDRPI • ICU LOS, APACHE II, RASS, GCS, admssion via other hospital, vasopressor administration and enternal feed administration were independently significant based on the univariate analysis.
