Abstract
As new years go, 2010 has certainly started off snowy, cold and icy for lots of us. After too much turkey and way too many mince pies, we probably all just want to hibernate until spring. Unfortunately, given the multiple changes and pressures in the NHS at the moment, this is not a realistic strategy for any colorectal, gastroenterology or stoma care nurses who wish to ensure that their patients continue to receive the range and quality of services which they currently do. I don′t mean to sound like a ′party pooper′, but it has to be acknowledged that 2010 will present nurse specialists with many challenges.
