Abstract
Arafat offers an in-depth analysis of three rising powers: China, India, and Russia, role in the Persian Gulf security. This chapter draws the attention of rising powers’ clash of strategies; the rising powers’ interests in the Persian Gulf; rising powers-Persian Gulf Military and defence relations; rising powers and Iran nuclear program; Persian Gulf security in the rising powers’ security and military strategies; impediments faced rising powers future security role in the Gulf. This chapter concludes that the rising powers are unwilling to become security provider of the Persian Gulf region, despite the fact that the United States supports India, on particular, to play such significant role in an attempt to counterweigh other external actors such as Russia and China and Erdogan’s Turkey.
