Abstract

Abstract Rio Tinto 355.2 is a heat-treatable, aluminum-silicon-copper-magnesium casting alloy (3xx.x series). It is available in the form of ingots for remelting, for the production of sand and permanent mold castings. It is a high-strength alloy with many desirable characteristics. The presence of copper in alloy 355.0 increases strength but reduces corrosion resistance and ductility. This alloy is less ductile than 356.0. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties.
