Ring closing metathesis as the key step in the synthesis of furan-substituted C-aryl glycosides

Abstract

The synthesis of didehydro-dideoxy C-glycosides with furan substituents using ring closing metathesis as the key step is described. The approach described herein gives access to both epimers. Assignment of the relative configuration of the products was achieved by NOESY spectroscopy.
