Abstract
AbstractC2‐symmetric 4,8‐substituted bicyclo[3.3.1]nona‐2,6‐dienes are efficient bidentate steering ligands for the rhodium‐catalyzed asymmetric conjugate addition of arylboronic acids to N‐Cbz‐2,3‐dihydro‐4‐pyridone. The arylation reactions proceed under mild conditions to provide corresponding 2‐aryl‐4‐piperidones in high yields along with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99.8:0.2 er).
