Abstract

The Rh(III)-catalyzed direct CH olefination of 2-arylquinoxalines has been developed via a one-pot cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction. A variety of 2-(2,6-di((E)-styryl)phenyl)quinoxaline derivatives were obtained in good to excellent yields with a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance. This reaction represents the first ortho-olefination of 2-arylquinoxalines with vinyl arenes under transition metal catalysis.
