Abstract

In the present study the rheological model proposed by Quemada [D. Qemada, Rheological modelling of complex fluids I. The concept of effective volume fraction revisited, Eur. Phys. J. AP, 1 (1998) 119–127.] has been shown to be able to predict the rheological behaviour of concentrated cementitious suspensions used for well cementing. The concentrated suspensions consisted of mixtures of API Class G oil well cement and manganese tetraoxide weight additives. The input for our modelling was based on measured particle fractions, packing fractions and viscosity curve measurements.
