Abstract
Este ensayo propone un esquema analítico para estudiar los impactos o efectos que tiene, o pudiera tener, el populismo en el régimen político. Para el cumplimiento de este objetivo, previamente se esbozan dos tipos literaturas en la dimensión conceptual y metodológica para cimentar la propuesta. De la ciencia política se precisa el concepto de régimen, los modelos acerca del cambio político y los debates recientes en torno al régimen democrático. De la sociología política el esfuerzo por precisar e historizar el populismo tan presente en América Latina, así como algunas propuestas metodológicas.
