Abstract

Abstract : Frequency stability of the unit was specified to allow no more than 20 c drift in 1 hr and no more than 50 c drift in 24 hr; this stability was to obtained in 15 min under all service conditions. Tests were performed to determine frequency stability under service conditions, power output, spurious radiation, keying distortion, and warm-up time. The units tested fulfilled all requirements with the exception of the power output. Construction of the units was satisfactory, and no apparent damage resulted from the vibration and shock tests. The equipment is considered satisfactory for applications in which use of a crystal for each operating frequency can be reconciled by the frequency stability, fast warm-up, and ease of operation attained.
