Review on Movie Subtitle Translation over 2011-2020

Abstract

Through literature method and qualitative research, this paper systematically analyzes the papers on movie subtitle translation on academic journals at home and abroad from 2011 to 2020, sorts out and summarizes the research results from the aspects of movie types, research theories, research contents, etc. , and points out several deficiencies in China’s research, including the problems of the monotony of the language pairs, contents, theories involved in the research. At the same time, several suggestions are put forward to provide some reference for the study of movie subtitle translation.
