Abstract
A mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is composed of a collection of mobile nodes which communicate to each other using the wireless connection. Thus MANETs can be utilized where the framework of the network is difficult to construct and maintain. Although such networks are flexible, adaptive and require limited resources, discovering paths between the different nodes is a tough job. Ad-hoc networks had been a big challenge for researchers, in-spite of the many researches that were done all around the world. Ad-hoc networks are dynamic, limited in bandwidth and energy. Thus routing in such a network has been a big challenge. The paper presents various techniques to achieve intelligent routing in a MANET using Ant Colony Optimization, Bee Colony Optimization, and Termite Hill Building Technique.
