Although Brown focuses on the British world of craft beer—which has some aspects that are less significant for American drinkers, such as the centrality of cask ales—he purposefully connects the movement back to its American rebirth. This resurgence originally centered on the demand for inventive and interesting flavors. Small breweries began producing these new beers for local patrons, and as our means for communication have expanded the reach of breweries through social media and other platforms, the demand for the circulation of these inventive beers rose.
