Abstract

Chromatographic behaviour of twentyfour amino acids has been studied on silicone fluid DC200, tiraryl phosphate (TAP) and tri-n-butylamine (TBA) impregnated silica gel-G layers in two-component mobile phases (n-propanol-water) in varying ratios. The effect of impregnation, mobile phase composition and the effect of solubility on hR F of amino acids are discussed. The mechanism of migration is explained in terms of adsorption on impregnated silica gel-G and polarity of the mobile phase used.
