Abstract
A novel method of focusing electron beams is described find a theory based on a laminar flow principle is developed. A series of design charts is presented and experimental work carried out in a demountable vacuum system described. The theoretical and experimental studies are compared. A design procedure for a Reversed Field Focusing system is discussed and conclusions are drawn.
