Abstract
Abstract In an earlier article a new magnetically coupled multi- vibrator was proposed. The operation of the proposed multi-vibrator depends to a great extent on the shape of the BH loops of transistor base-driving transformers. In this article the operation of the multi-vibrator is considered for the case of transistor base-driving transformers having rectangular static BH loop cores. The frequency dependence on the input voltage, the frequency stabilization by Zener diodes and the possibility of frequency change by a d.c. control current are considered. Further, the influences of eddy currents and BH loop side slopes on the frequency are treated. The errors made by neglecting the influences of oddy currents and BH loop side slopes on the frequency, are calculated. Also, the conditions which must be satisfied if oscillations of the multi-vibrator are to be determined by the magnetic flux change, are given.
