Abstract

Abstract In our present investigation, through applying H5L (H5L = 2,4-di(3′,5′-dicarboxylphenyl)benzoic acid), a symmetrical rigid multicarboxylic acid ligand with V-shape, two new coordination polymers containing Co(II) and Cu(II) were assembled, and their chemical formulae respectively were {[Co5(L)2(H2O)12]·6H2O}n (1) and {[H2N(Me)2][Cu2(L)(H2O)]·DMF·H2O}n (2, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide), leading to a variety of types of the coordination patterns and multifunctional skeletons of H 5L. Magnetic researches suggest that between neighboring metallic ions, the two compounds possess the antiferromagnetic coupling. Furthermore, the assessment of nutritional support activity was conducted and the detailed mechanism was explored. The results showed that compound 1 was much better than compound 2 on the breast cancer therapy.
