Abstract

A growing population necessitates reliable transportation. Highway and road building uses more concrete pavements. During this time, however, temperature stresses concrete flooring significantly. The temperature differential weakens the concrete pavement. To decrease temperature discrepancy in concrete On concrete flooring, this study looked at phase transition materials. Various concrete compositions with differing PCM replacement levels were tested. The temperature difference between concrete mixtures was monitored with a heat simulator. Increasing PCM content minimises temperature stresses in concrete paving.
