Abstract
A direct comparison between radar meteor wind measurements and ionospheric drift measurements in the low-frequency range, both referring to the height region between about 90 and 100 km in the same area, has been made in 1970/71 in the German Democratic Republic. The results show that, on the average and with relatively few exceptions, the method of ionospheric drift measurements in the low-frequency range indicates very nearly the actual neutral air wind in this height region. In detail, however, there are often remarkable differences between the results of the two measuring methods which will have to be studied further.
