Abstract
A damped oscillator analysis of the restrahlen spectrum of single crystal MnO yields the following long wavelength optic phonon frequencies: TO = 262 cm -1 and LO = 552 cm -1. Calculated values of other relevant parameters are ϵ o = 22.50, ϵ ∞ = 4.95 and Szigeti effective charge = 1.08. ▪
