Abstract
This paper enumerates the various ways by which Information Technology, (IT) curriculum can be structured to enhance the interest of students right from primary school to tertiary institutions. It proposes a prototype of an IT curriculum that can be introduced in tertiary institutions base on the existing curriculum of an undergraduate programme for B.Sc. Computer Science in Nigerian institutions and some institutions in foreign countries. This could be termed a basis for IT curriculum restructuring in Nigeria so as to enhance manpower development for IT industries in the country. Finally, the paper highlights the benefits that can be derived from restructuring the IT curriculum. Keywords: information technology, curriculum, restructuring, primary school, tertiary institution, computer science, manpower developmentThe Information Technologist Vol. 3(1) 2006: 18-26
