Abstract

A restoration system for maximizing the restorable loads in a distribution network using three different restoration schemes, a network state knowledge base (NSK) and a restoration knowledge base (RKB) is described. A special NSK and RKB record format is proposed for storing network information and restoration steps. the knowledge acquisition is automated through the use of a distribution system simulator. Test cases have been created and their results verified. The proposed restoration system can be integrated as part of an existing distribution management system.
