Abstract
We appreciate the expressed enthusiasm about our paper. We believe that our study contributes 3 main findings. First, the overall incidence of AF occurring in the hospital following non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE ACS) was 6%, but 44% of that occurred after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Second, the majority of these atrial fibrillation (AF) patients did not receive oral anticoagulation at discharge, despite almost 60% having a CHADS2 score ≥2 and almost 90% having a CHA2DS2-VASc score ≥2.
