Abstract

My coauthors and I welcome the opportunity to answer the “Comment” of Drs. Imbihl and Toghan in order to address their criticism and thus also necessarily clarify some key points regarding mass transfer effects when studying promotional or, more generally, catalytic phenomena in ambient conditions or in vacuum. Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) spectrum of oxygen from an electrochemically promoted Pt/YSZ catalyst after gaseous 18O2 adsorption followed by electrochemical 16O2− supply, after which the TPD run starts [21]. .
