Abstract

The wide availability of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS Co-V2) vaccines, along with the concomitant decline in nationwide hospitalizations for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related illness, ushered in a near-return-to-normal pace of practice for many arthroplasty surgeons in the United States. Hospital system screening procedures have persisted which create a safer environment within which to deliver elective surgical services. In July 2020, the International Consensus Group along with the American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons Research Committee created guidelines for resuming elective total joint arthroplasty [1].
