Abstract

In the electromagnetic calculation, the finite difference time domain method is widely used. The standard FDTD method for Maxwell's equations is redefined on face-centered cubic (FCC) grids which is a new grid as an alternative to the traditional Yee grid. Compared to Yee cell, it has better grid isotropy and shows the more relaxed stability criterion. Here, we derived the iterative equations of the electric and magnetic fields. And we also calculate the time domain waveform of electric field and TM111 which compares with the theoretical value in cavity. The result is that the FDTD algorithm on the FCC grid is correct. So it has very important value to research.
