Abstract
Among the methods for the complex characterization of piezoceramics from complex impedance measurements at resonance, Alemany et al. developed an automatic iterative method, applied to the four modes of resonance needed for the purpose of the determination of the full set of complex elastic, dielectric and piezoelectric coefficients in the linear range of poled piezoceramics, 6 mm symmetry materials. This complex characterization allows the Finite Element Analysis of the standard sample geometries used. The comparison of the experimental resonance spectra and the results obtained for elastically, dielectrically and piezoelectrically homogeneous item of a Navy II type PZT based commercial piezoceramic is here presented and discussed.
