Abstract
Three-photon, two-color resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS) is described for technetium. The wavelengths used to effect ionization of Tc are between 420 and 620 nm. Twenty-two unique ionization paths originating in the atomic ground state are observed and identified. An unknown fraction of the sample Tc is vaporized in molecular form and cannot be addressed by normal atomic photoionization methods.
