Abstract
Network usage charges is one of the main constituents in the operational set up of de-regulated power sectors. The power flow tracing is one of such procedure to evaluate the extent of utilization of transmission paths by the sources in order to meet the desired contracts. Based upon the actual operating condition of the given system along with bus voltage profiles and associated branch parameters, AC virtual power flow tracing is carried out. Due to the non-linear nature of the AC power flow model, the virtual tracing carried out is not exactly comparable with only real power flow models. In this paper an extension of AC virtual power flows is presented as equivalent Resistive network with real power flows R - P network model of the original AC system. The equivalent model will have only real power bus injections as that of AC system. The proposed approach is illustrated on sample 4-bus system, 10-bus, 400kV part of southern Indian system.
