Abstract
The study was conducted to identify the resilience level of 164 special education teachers of primary schools (SETs) from the Integrated Special Education Program (ISEP) in the northern zone of Perak. Quantitative type studies using a survey design approach were used to collect data through questionnaires that were modified on a five-point Likert scale. A pilot study was conducted and obtained an alpha Cronbach's alpha instrument with a reliability of 0.752 (32 items). While, the results of the study were statistically analyzed to obtain the percentage, mean, deviation and frequency of the respondents, the inference statistical test with the independent t test method was used to find differences in SETs level of resilience based on gender. The results of the data analysis showed that all four constructs of teacher respondents' level of resilience were high with a mean value of 3.99 and 0.283 for standard deviation . The results also revealed that there was no significant difference between the sexes of the respondents with test value t = -1.698, df = 162, sig = .091 (p> 0.005). This study suggests that training or courses related to resilience and intervention programs be given to teachers to help teachers maintain their resilience. Overall the findings of this study explain the level and importance of resilience among SETs. As a result, the results show that they are able to adapt to the challenges and pressures of their respective organizations without being influenced by the gender of the teachers.
