Abstract
The safety of the structures in various fields with knowing aeronautics, the car and pipes rests on the study of the fatigue behaviour and the prevention of various scenarios. This study relates to the fatigue behaviour of aluminum alloy 2024 T351 SENT specimen with semicircular notch where various scenarios are studied. The effect of the load ratio is highlighted, where one notices a shift of the curves of crack growth. The presence of the compressive residual stresses in structure is the significant scenario of crack growth retardation. The fatigue behavior with the presence of residual stresses is studied using the AFGROW code when NASGRO model is used. The comparative study between the fatigue behavior without and with residual stress shows the variation on the fatigue life.
