Abstract
SUMMARY The Solifuga collected during the shore programme (southern Somalia, Sar Uanle, 0°29'48''S-42°25'30''E) belong to the family Solpugidae (Delle Cave, 1977) and Daesiidae, the latter being subject of this paper. The species Biton monodentatus, recently described by Delle Cave (1978), is particularly interesting, as it is closely related to the South African striatus-group.
