Abstract

In our study we tried to observe and appreciate the quality of anastomosis in case of vascular prosthesis, its tolerance and biointegration degrees. Observations were made on a number of fifteen dogs, different age and rase, and also on a number of five pigs weighing between 50-60 kg. For anastomosis it was used knitted Dacron prosthetic graft with low porosity. Dacron graft was used for iliac arteries and for aorta. The anastomosis was effectuated both in interrupted simple suture and simple continuous patterns. Dacron prosthesis were well tolerated by dogs, species which was monitored during thirty days, but also by pigs which were monitored during sixty days. We did not observe any complications or adverse reactions
