Abstract
Stanniocalcin(STC)is a class of glycoprotein hormones with various biological functions.Human STC contains two members, STC1 and STC2, which are involved in a variety of tumors.In recent years, more and more atention has been paid to the role of STC, especially STC2 in the pathogenesis of cancer.Studies have shown that STC2 promotes the neovascularization of tumor through protection tumor cells in hypoxia, and promoting the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of tumor cells.STC2 also inhibits immune response and blocks tumor apoptosis.Study cocerning whether STC2 can be used as a new tumor marker is becoming one of the hotspots of cancer research.
