Abstract

Ocular trauma is the leading cause of blindness among pediatric monocular non-congenital eye diseases, which can greatly disturb the development of visual function and ocular histological structure, thus adding economic and psychological burdens to the children and their families. The evaluation, clinical characteristics, classification, as well as causes of the trauma are analyzed in this article, and the clinical factors and research progress of pediatric ocular trauma are summarized, which might provide references for the prevention of it.
